My Embarrassing Godfather.

I knew the cricket season could not come soon enough having hit rock-bottom and resorted to cleaning my fridge-freezer in an effort to feel “productive” last Saturday. It was touch and go whether ten years of encrusted grime in the oven would be next; my chisel was primed.


The long-running saga of the Bradford Odeon and it’s much hoped for re-birth suffered a blow this week with the refusal by the Heritage Lottery Fund for a £5m grant. For the price of a very average footballer this magnificent building’s future remains uncertain.

Rain Stopped Play.

A few of our good friends at local cricket clubs have felt the cruel force of the recent floods wreaking horrific damage to facilities maintained largely by volunteers. As most clubs live year to year with funding always tight, this is a situation that could threaten the very existence of some.
